Heart Gallery East Texas gathering

One of our most powerful tools for building awareness and support is also one of the simplest: sharing a meal and a mission.

Heart Gallery East Texas recently hosted a Lunch & Learn that was more than just a lunch break—it was an opportunity to open hearts, inspire action, and build a community of champions for children in foster care. The Heart Gallery invited businesses, churches, civic leaders, and community groups to see their space and provided a meaningful forum to explore the stories behind child portraits and the urgent need for families.

Attendees heard directly from the team, adoptive parents, and exhibit partners. They learned how Heart Galleries use the power of photography to connect children with families and how each of us can play a role in that life-changing mission. Whether it’s signing up to volunteer, becoming a donor, or simply sharing what they’ve learned, guests gain a deeper understanding of Heart Galleries and how they can make a difference.

The event resulted in 10 new permanent exhibits. Four are already up and the others, including a mural at the Tyler mall and an airport display, will launch soon. A local family foundation invited the Heart Gallery to apply for funding, and another attendee asked to be put to work and joined the local Heart Gallery committee. These events are instrumental in sparking lasting partnerships, expanding volunteer networks, and helping to secure critical funding to keep the mission moving forward.

Want to host a Lunch & Learn? Reach out to your local Heart Gallery. Together, we can turn awareness into action—and give every child the chance to be seen, supported, and celebrated.
