The Heart Gallery of Northwest Texas continues its mission to help connect children in foster care with loving adoptive families. This week, the organization is spotlighting Aaliyah.
Aaliyah enjoys exploring the world through hands-on learning—whether it’s competing in science fairs, participating in UIL contests, or spending hours reading about experiments and discoveries. Her passion for STEM drives her dream of one day attending college to study science or engineering.
When she’s not learning, Aaliyah channels her creativity through art, drawing, and crafts. Recently, she’s discovered a love for makeup and enjoys getting her nails done. During the summer months, she loves being outdoors, especially fishing and swimming.
Aaliyah’s Hispanic culture is an important part of her identity. She treasures family traditions like celebrating Christmas with buñuelos, tamales, and menudo—cherished customs that remind her of home and connection.
Family means everything to Aaliyah, and she hopes to find adoptive parents who share that same value. “People who love me, a family with a mom and dad,” she said. “People who care for me, who are nice to me and who will allow me to visit and talk to my biological family.”
The Heart Gallery of Northwest Texas, sponsored by 2INgage, shares portraits and stories like Aaliyah’s to help children in foster care find forever homes. Each youth featured gives consent to share their photo and story, an empowering step toward building trust and belonging.
