About HGTX Trainings

Our HGTX Trainings provide educational and technical support to child welfare professionals and caregivers. These trainings aim to transform the narrative of foster care by advocating for the placement of youth in supported families and preventing youth from re-entering the foster care system.

Our training sessions and series strive to provide the strategies needed to build supportive environments for children who are awaiting adoption, have been adopted, or are in a long-term guardianship placement.

All trainings are free to attend and offered both in-person and virtually. Some of our trainings are offered in a multi-session series format, while others are individual workshops. Virtual individual and group consultation for participants may accompany the training offering. Continuing Education Credits (CEUs) are available for professionals on select trainings.

If you have any specific questions about these trainings, please email Samantha Thompson at samantha.thompson@austin.utexas.edu
